On this wonderful day, we as the City’s Favorite Developer honors mothers of family, motherhood, maternal bonds and the influence of mothers in the society. Mother’s Day celebrates motherhood and is a day to make an extra-special effort to recognize and appreciate mothers’ roles in our lives. The past year’s been a challenge and many of us are rethinking how to give extra recognition to moms. Some of us are apart from our moms when we’d normally be together. Cook for Mom or set up a virtual brunch date.
If your mother is living with you, breakfast in bed is always a classic and appreciated. Something simple is fine for this, such as toast or a croissant with jam or fruit and a cup of coffee or tea. Or, if she’s not fond of eating in bed, how about preparing a sit-down brunch?
2. Give your mom a long phone call or put on a virtual talent show!
Talk to her (or videochat) and make her laugh. Perhaps throw in some good mom Jokes. Put on a talent show, It can be simple. Sing a song, show off some gymnastics, play an instrument.
3. Get creative: Make Mom a video, a music playlist, or a piece of art!
Record a video from all of the children. They can each say “Happy Mother’s Day” and why they appreciate her. You can always use iMovie to splice videos together on your phone. How about a special work of art for Mom? For example, paint the outside of a terra-cotta flower pot and fill it with garden seeds and a card. Or, make a beautiful photo frame with your family photo inside
4. Make your own card.
Don’t forget to send a card in advance! In our home, it’s a tradition to make a homemade card every year. Moms love homemade! Wondering what to write in the card? How about sharing a funny story or happy memory of you and your mom? It will make her smile!
The year gone by was a rollercoaster ride. From new beginnings to new projects, initiatives, client and prospect mishaps, coupled with in-office friendship to frenemies, it was a wild ride, yet the Greatest mileage and impact made ever since we started as JL Properties over the past decade. This new year is the best time to take up new avenues, with a glimmer of hope and optimism. As part of the Anniversary Celebration of JL Properties in celebrating a decade of modern living, an all-inclusive Healthwalk was organized on Saturday 13th November, 2021 to promote healthy living amongst all stakeholders. The Walk which commenced at the office premised, saw a gathering of over 350 participants who journeyed with families and loved ones to release the stress, depression, anxiety and socialise better as well.
Addressing the Gathering, the Executive Chairman of JL Properties, Dr. James Orleans-Lindsay iterated that iterated that the essence of the anniversary Healthwalk was to build the body and mind, promoting healthy lifestyle amongst all. It is imperative to note that the benefits of having a walk are enormous. From better cardiovascular and pulmonary systems to increased endurance, strengthened muscles, more mobility robust bones and balanced posture.
Having described the exercise of successful, he mentioned that it offered JL Properties the opportunity to bind with home owners, clients, as well as all and sundry who joined to celebrate 10 years of modern living made possible by the City’s Favorite developer. The anniversary celebration continues with an official Launch of arguably the biggest inner city residential development in West Africa, Lindsay Gardens on Saturday 20th November, 2021 at Lindsay Gardens, right behind the Achimota Mall.

The Minister of Lands, Housing and Country Planning, Dr. Turad Senesie, had a successful mission in Ghana in a bid to promote President Bio’s agenda for affordable housing and enhancement of well-planned settlements on Monday August 9, 2021.
The minister’s delegation was in Accra over the weekend on the invitation of one of Ghana’s biggest real-estate developers, JL Properties, to ascertain the company’s readiness to invest in Sierra Leone.
The Minister is keen to develop micro-cities in degraded land sites or brownfields as captured in the government’s Medium Term Development Plan.
“My intention is to develop sustainable and affordable housing units in well planned communities, with a special focus to transform slum communities and dumpsites into high peak planned settlements,” Dr. Senesie disclosed, whilst expressing delight that JL Properties is just the right match for such ventures as evident in its records of transforming brownfields into planned gated communities.
In Ghana, the Minister and his team were taken on conducted tours of various real-estate communities developed by JL Properties, a wholly owned Ghanaian establishment constructing over 200 homes every year.
Following the two-day tour, Dr. Senesie disclosed that he was impressed with the evidence of professional and great work being done by the residential developer in that part of the world.
He assured the investor of the support of government in ensuring the enabling environment to attract and protect such investment in line with the President’s vision to provide affordable housing and decent communities for its citizens.
According to the minister, public-private sector collaboration is at the heart of the vision of the brand new direction government. Prior to the visit, the CEO of JL Properties and President Bio had exchange pleasant visits on the need to develop affordable time tested luxury residential development for sustainable living.

“We have been in the business of transforming degraded land sites into attractive gated communities for the last fifteen years and we are interested in replicating such investments and development in Sierra Leone,” the CEO disclosed.
“After visiting Sierra Leone and studying the development blueprint of President Bio, which happens to be among the best in the sub-region, I am now very much interested to be part of the nation’s infrastructural development,” he pointed out, while assuring that he is looking forward to creating the finest enclaves in Freetown.
“The Minister’s visit underlines the seriousness the government places on infrastructural development and this has cemented my resolve to invest in Sierra Leone,” he ended.
JL Properties was approached by Sierra Leone’s Envoy for Trade and Investment, Alie Turaykeh, who later introduced the investor to His Excellency the President and the Minister of Lands, Housing and Country Planning.
