JL Properties, one of Ghana’s leading real estate developers, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Pan African Heritage Museum (PAHM) to embark on the construction of a landmark museum complex in Ghana. The project is set to commence in August 2024, with the first phase slated for completion by 2026.
The signing ceremony, held on Thursday, August 1, 2024, in Accra, brought together key stakeholders from both institutions. The MoU was signed by Professor Kojo Yankah, Founder and Chairman of PAHM, and Dr. James Condua Orleans-Lindsay, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of JL Properties. Also in attendance were directors from both organizations and representatives from the African University College of Communications.
A Vision for African Heritage
The Pan African Heritage Museum complex, located in Pomadze near Winneba Junction in the Effutu Municipality of Ghana’s Central Region, is envisioned as a site of pilgrimage for people of African descent. It aims to help visitors “discover and experience the true history of the origins of humanity.”
The museum will showcase Africa’s rich history, arts, culture, sciences, religions, and technologies from ancient times to the modern era. The project’s first phase will include:
- Museum Building
- Herbal Plant Farm
- Chalets
- Heroes and Heroines Park
- Palace of African Kingdoms
- Children’s Playground
- Food Court
The construction of the museum is expected to be funded through donations and grants, with the digital version of the museum already accessible via its website at www.pahmuseum.org.

Speaking at the event, Professor Kojo Yankah highlighted the cultural significance of the project, emphasizing its role in preserving African heritage for future generations. He also acknowledged the groundbreaking ceremony led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in April 2021, which marked the start of this ambitious initiative.Dr. James Orleans-Lindsay reaffirmed JL Properties’ commitment to delivering a world-class facility that would serve as a beacon of African excellence and innovation. He expressed optimism about the collaboration, citing the transformative potential of the project for the African continent and the diaspora.
