Dr. James Orleans-Lindsay, Executive Chairman of JL Holdings Ltd, has been named the 2024 Marketing Man of the Year by the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana.
The announcement was made at the 36th CIMG National Marketing Performance Awards, held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the Labadi Beach Hotel. The event, themed “Repositioning Brand Ghana: Marketing for Economic Growth and Transformation,” celebrates individuals and organisations that demonstrate excellence in marketing, innovation, and social impact.
Double Recognition for JL Properties
In addition to Dr. Orleans-Lindsay's personal accolade, his flagship real estate firm, JL Properties Limited, was awarded Marketing-Oriented Real Estate Company of the Year (2024).
According to the citation, the company expanded its portfolio during the year under review with notable developments, including Bentum-Williams Place at North Airport, Ewuresi's Legacy near the Nigerian High Commission, and Lindsay Gardens behind the Achimota Mall. These gated communities are designed to offer security, convenience, and modern lifestyle benefits.
The company has also diversified its offerings by introducing apartment-style homes alongside its established gated enclaves, catering to Ghana's evolving urban housing needs. Enhanced customer-focused initiatives — such as smart home features, early-bird offers, dedicated relationship managers, and post-purchase support — have further strengthened its market position.
With a bold plan to deliver over 2,000 housing units within the next five years, JL Properties is contributing meaningfully to addressing Ghana's housing deficit, estimated at more than two million units.

Dr. Orleans-Lindsay is widely recognised as a leading figure in Ghana's real estate sector, with business interests spanning construction, agriculture, aquaculture, and beverages. He founded JL Properties in 2005 after working in the United Kingdom with global technology company IBM.
He is credited with transforming a former dumpsite and quarry in Achimota into one of the country's most prestigious residential estates — an achievement often cited as a benchmark in urban redevelopment.

His academic journey reflects a deep commitment to professional excellence. Dr. Orleans-Lindsay holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, along with advanced qualifications in real estate and construction management from globally respected institutions, including the London School of Economics, University of Salford, and University of Hertfordshire. He has also undertaken executive studies at the Saïd Business School University of Oxford and Harvard University.
